Shamim Halder ... for the Petitioner Ms. Sudipa Ray Ms. Rupsha Chakraborty ... for the State The father of the petitioner employed as Tax Collector of the Kanainagar Gram Panchayat. He died in harness on 29th October, 2021. The petitioner applied for being appointment on compassionate ground on 11th January, 2022 before the Pradhan, Kanainagar Gram Panchayat. He alleges that the said application has not been taken up for consideration till date.

None appears on behalf of the Panchayat despite service.

Affidavit of service filed in Court is taken on records.

As it appears that the Pradhan is yet to take a decision with regard to the application filed by the petitioner praying for appointment on compassionate ground, accordingly, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent nos.5 and 7 to take a

decision with regard to the prayer made by the petitioner strictly in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order.

The aforesaid respondents shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to forward a copy of the representation dated 11th January, 2022 received by the office of the Pradhan on 13th January, 2022, to the aforesaid respondents at the time of communicating the order of the Court.

The writ petition stands disposed of.
