The petitioner renews his prayer for bail which was rejected earlier by an order dated July 1, 2019 passed in CRM 3949 of 2019.

Commercial quantity of contraband item was recovered from the petitioner. The restriction in Section 37 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 is attracted. Hence, we are not inclined to allow the petitioner's prayer.

However, keeping in view that the petitioner has been in custody for almost three years, we request the learned Court below to expedite the trial to the extent possible and bring the same to its logical conclusion as soon as the business of the Court may permit.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected.
