The Ghushkara college under Burdwan University in its Website published an advertisement on February 3, 2021 inviting applications from eligible candidates to fill up some vacancies of non-teaching staff of the said college.

The petitioner responding to the said advertisement applied for the appointment in the post of Guard (Group-'D') Day Section.

The walk-in-interview for filling up the said vacancies is scheduled on February 21, 2021.

The petitioner by the instant writ petition is praying that he may be allowed to appear in the said interview under exempted category as his deceased father was an employee of the said college.

The authority shall allow the petitioner to participate in the said interview if he is otherwise

eligible but whether the petitioner is eligible for any exemption in filling up the vacancy for which he has applied for, it is for the authority to decide the same in accordance with law.

The petitioner shall not be entitled to claim any equity for allowing him in the said interview. Since no affidavit has been invited allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have been denied by the respondents.

W.P.A 4509 of 2021 is disposed of with the above terms.

There shall be no order as to costs.
