By dint of order dated January 6, 2025 in WPA 29559 of 2024, this Court directed the respondents for raising demand of tax and additional motor vehicles tax against the petitioner, enabling him to remit the same and fulfill the statutory pre-condition for grant of countersignature.

This contempt petition being CPAN 315 of 2025 has been filed alleging willful and deliberate violation of the order as above by the Court, by the alleged contemnor as no demand was raised till then.

3. Today, learned advocate for the respective parties appear in the Court and submit that in compliance of the order as above, the respondent has raised demand of tax and additional tax. Hence, the petitioner, who is a bonafide operator on the interstate route, shall have no further grievance. The order of this Court as mentioned above is thus found to have been substantially complied with by the respondent authorities.

4. In such circumstances, the Court finds it proper to dispose of this contempt application. (Rai Chattopadhyay, J.)
