1. The petitioner says that he is n custody for 245 days. There was no recovery of contraband items from him. He has been implicated solely on the statements of coaccused persons. He prays for bail.

2. Learned State counsel tells us that call details report shows that numerous calls were exchanged between the petitioner and the prime accused on the day prior to the date of seizure. Charge has already been framed. Witness action is scheduled to begin on April 24, 2025. The prosecution intends to examine 11 witnesses. All efforts will be made to conclude the trial on an early date.

3. In view of commercial quantity of contraband items being involved and in view of availability of call details report

prima facie linking the petitioner to the alleged offence as also money trail, we are not inclined to entertain the petitioner's prayer for bail, at this stage.

4. The application for bail is, thus, dismissed.

5. However, keeping in mind the period of detention of the petitioner, we request the learned trial Court to expedite the trial to the extent possible and conclude the same on an early date, if necessary, by fixing frequent schedules for examination of witnesses.

6. All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

7. Criminal Section is directed to supply certified copies of this order to the parties, if applied for, upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
