The petitioner is a student of Jadavpur University, he is complaining that the respondent nos. 19 to 21 have no relation with the University, they are complete outsiders but the University authority has allowed them to hold ensuing Saraswati Puja in the campus of the University and is funding such Puja. Ms.

Dutta, learned advocate for the University submits that to hold Saraswati Puja within the campus, one is required to obtain permission from the Registrar of the University and such permission has not been accorded to the respondent nos. 19 to 21. The University allows only the students and the employees to hold such Puja within the campus, the outsiders are not entitled to use the campus of the University for holding such Pujas/festivals, she strongly denies the allegation of the petitioner that the University authority has funded the puja of the said respondents.

Mr. Biswabrata Basu Mallick, learned AGP submits that the petitioner, in fact has no cause of action.

In view of the aforesaid policy of the University, the persons not related with the University are not entitled to use the campus for holding Puja or other festivals. The University Authority is directed to strictly adhere to its said policy. W.P.A. 3935 of 2024 is disposed of with the above terms without any order as to costs.
