For the CESC The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the refusal of the CESC from shifting the electric meter in the name of the petitioner at the subject premises. The petitioner submits that there are disputes and differences between the petitioner and the private respondents and the private respondents have disconnected the electricity connection to the petitioner's premises.

Mr. Lall appears on behalf of the CESC and submits that the disconnection has taken place at the instance of the private respondents who have unlawfully occupied the common area and disconnected the electricity line of the petitioner.

None appears on behalf of the private respondents nor is any accommodation prayed for on their behalf.

In view of the fact that essential services which ought to be provided to the petitioner have been interfered with by the private respondents, which in my view, is wholly unlawful and illegal on the part of the private respondents and the CESC have no role to play in it, appropriate orders for restoration of the petitioner's electric connection need to be passed in the facts and circumstances of the case.

Accordingly, the police authorities are directed to ensure that the electric connection to the petitioner's premises is restored forthwith by the private respondents. CESC is also directed to take steps for shifting the electric meter in the name of the petitioner at the subject premises upon compliance with all necessary formalities.

With the aforesaid directions, W.P.A. 4531 of 2021 is disposed of.

Photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
