Petitioner seeks bail.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for 230 days. The police filed chargesheet and, therefore, further detention of the petitioner is not required. He submits that in the charge-sheet, misappropriation of only Rs.29,000/- (Rupees Twenty Nine Thousand Only) is alleged against the petitioner. The petitioner is in a position to account for the entirety of the amount available in the bank account of his wife and the petitioner and as also his children. He submits that the tenders were never awarded.

Learned Advocate appearing for the State refers to the materials in the case diary. He submits that the petitioner was one of the persons involved in floating tenders by a public authority. He is the person who signed those tender documents. There are serious charges against the persons involved in the present police case including the petitioner. Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of

the petitioner therein as transpiring from the materials in the case diary, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. C.R.M. (DB) 610 of 2022 is dismissed.
