Petitioner approached this Court as no steps were taken by the police authorities in respect of his information dated 20th July, 2023 and, as such, has prayed before this Court for the police authorities for investigation and for recovery of the pledged gold. Report submitted by the State reflects that two cases have been filed and during the investigation in connection with Islampur Police Station Case No.226 of 2024 dated 18.03.2024 one of the accused persons has been arrested and the investigation of the case is in progress.

Having considered that the police authorities have taken steps in connection with the information furnished by the petitioner, at this stage, further interference of this Court is uncalled for. The investigating agency will take the investigation to its logical conclusion by way of taking effective steps and by submitting the report under Section 193 of the BNSS.

With the aforesaid observations, WPA 3962 of 2024 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report submitted by the State be kept with the record.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
