The allegation is that the petitioner and other coaccused persons demanded money from the victim. Sometime thereafter the victim's dead body was found.

The State says that the petitioner and the co-accused persons were last seen together with the victim. The post mortem report says that the death was homicidal in nature. Charge sheet is yet to be filed. Investigation is going on and is at a nascent stage. The charge is serious.

On an overall assessment of the facts and circumstances of the case and extent of possible complicity of the petitioner in the alleged crime, we are not inclined to grant the petitioner's prayer for anticipatory bail. The application for anticipatory is, thus, rejected. C.R.M. 1753 of 2021 is dismissed.
