The petitioner alleges that though the compensation amount for acquisition of the plot of the petitioner has been determined but till date, the compensation amount has not been paid.
The learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has submitted a representation before the Special Land Acquisition Officer, Purba Bardhaman dated 24th December, 2025. He submits that in spite of such representation, no steps have been taken by the said respondent till date.
Heard the learned Advocate for the State on such submission.
It appears from the documents annexed to this writ petition that the amount of compensation has been determined and a notice dated 24th November, 2025 has been served upon the petitioner.
In the light of the submissions made by the learned Advocates for the respective parties, WPA 4109 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the Special Land Acquisition
Officer, Purba Bardhaman, being the second respondent, to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 24th December, 2025 and if it is found that the petitioner is entitled to the compensation amount, the same shall be disbursed to the petitioner forthwith.
If such respondent is of the view that the petitioner is not entitled to the amount, reasons therefor shall also be communicated to the petitioner.
The entire exercise shall be completed as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a server copy of this order along with a copy of the representation of the petitioner dated 24th December, 2025.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
