Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that, the petitioner is in custody in excess of one year. The police filed charge-sheet and, therefore, further detention of the petitioner is not required. He submits that, another co-accused was granted bail by the Jurisdictional Court on June 29, 2021. Learned advocate appearing for the State draws the attention of the Court to the contents in the case diary. He submits that the victim was brutally murdered. Post occurrence eye witnesses saw the petitioner along with the other coaccused. There is an application for cancellation of the bail granted on June 29, 2021 to the other co-accused.

Considering the gravity of the offence and the involvement of the petitioner as prima facie transpiring from the materials in the case diary, we are unable to grant bail to the petitioner. In such circumstances, prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected and the application being CRM (DB) 621 of 2022 is dismissed.
