The grievance of the petitioner is directed against inaction of the WBSEDCL to take steps in respect of the pilferage of the existing electricity line belonging to the petitioner. Pursuant to the order dated 24 February 2026 WBSEDCL has filed a Report.

It is also submitted on behalf of the petitioner that during pendency of this proceeding the private respondents have stopped hooking and using illegal means for obtaining any electricity connection.

In such circumstances, nothing survives in this writ petition WPA 4038 of 2026 is dismissed.

Liberty is granted to the petitioner and WBSEDCL to take appropriate steps both civil or criminal insofar as the illegal acts of the private respondents are concerned.
