The petitioner complains of inaction on the part of the Gangarampur Police Station. The petitioner has lodged complaint on 1st February, 2023 alleging that the persons named therein have cheated him.

Gangarampur Police has registered FIR No.70/23 dated 23rd February, 2023 under Sections 406, 420 of the IPC.

The police complain that the petitioner is not cooperating in the investigation. They have sought a large number of documents from the petitioner, which have not been furnished.

It appears that notice under Section 91 of the CrPC has not been served on the petitioner.

In that view of the matter, Gangarampur Police is directed to serve notice under Section 91 of the CrPC on the petitioner immediately, if not already sent. The petitioner shall visit the Gangarampur Police Station on 15th April, 2023 at 2 pm and meet the Investigating Officer along with all documents and papers.

The Investigating Officer shall take up the investigation with urgency and expedition. It is expected that the investigation is completed within a period of 45 days from date.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.

All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
