1. Let the affidavit of service as filed in the Court be kept on record.

2. The petitioner claims that she belongs to OBC-B category. However, she had applied for recruitment in the 2nd SLST, 2025 under the General category.

3. This, ostensibly shows her caste certificate had not been renewed in time. The time to edit the application form was also given by the authorities between July and August, 2025. In spite thereof, the petitioner could not update her details and edit the application form accordingly.

4. The petitioner, thereafter on January 2, 2026, much after the results were published on December 22, 2025, made a representation to the authorities regarding updation of the application form and change of category from General to OBC-B.

5. Mr. Bhattacharya, learned advocate appearing for the respondents opposes the prayer as such updation cannot be made at such a belated stage.

6. I have heard the learned advocates appearing for the parties.

7. On the date of making the application, the petitioner did not have a valid certificate, nor was it available to the petitioner within the cut-off date. The petitioner had also not applied to the authorities, nor approached this Court within a reasonable time.

8. In view of the aforestated, as the petitioner could not update the details of her caste within the stipulated period, she cannot be permitted, at this stage, to make a modification of her application, the time whereof has expired in August, 2025. If the prayer of the petitioner is allowed, similarly situated persons will be denied an equal opportunity.

9. In view of the aforestated, I am not inclined to entertain this writ petition, which is accordingly dismissed.

10. There shall be no order as to costs.

11. Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
