The petitioner contends that, despite applying for affiliation on August 20, 2023, the West Bengal Council of Technical and Vocational Education and Skill Development ("the Council") issued a conditional letter of affiliation on January 9, 2024. The petitioner was provided with a threeday window to complete all formalities for affiliation and subsequently applied for affiliation on January 12, 2024. Due to this delayed affiliation process, the petitioner was unable to admit any students until January 12, 2024. As per the Council's notification dated January 4, 2024, the petitioner missed the opportunity to admit students during the first counseling round scheduled for January 6, 2024,

which was later extended to January 10, 2024. The petitioner seeks a one-day extension to admit students, having made a representation to the Council in a letter dated January 22, 2024.

I am of the view that the petitioner's grievance should be considered by the Chief Administrative Officer of the Council, who should issue an order taking into consideration the difficulties faced by the petitioner.

Therefore, WPA 4067 of 2024 is disposed of with a directive to the Chief Administrative Officer of the Council to consider the representation dated January 22, 2024, within one week from the date of communication of this order. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
