Ms. Suchismita Dutta ... for the State-respondent(s) Learned advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody for more than one year two months and out of the 75 witnesses cited by the prosecution, 11 witnesses till date have been examined. According to the learned advocate, the petitioner is similarly situated as the other person, namely, Habibur Rahaman @ Nana who was granted bail in CRM(M) 1067 of 2025.

Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and distinguishes the complicity of the present petitioner from Habibur Rahaman @ Nana.

However, the evidence, for the time being, reflects that the petitioner and another person, namely, Abul

Hussain @ Abal was involved in supplying arms at the lockup of Islampur Court.

Having considered the consequences which followed after the same, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail.

Hence, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is Rejected.

However, the learned trial court would expedite the process of trial considering the long list of witnesses. Accordingly, CRM(M) 507 of 2026 is dismissed. Pending application(s), if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
