Both the writ petitions relate to proceeding initiated by the authority under the provisions of the West Bengal Highways Act, 1964.

It has been brought to the notice of the Court that the proceeding is currently pending before

the Sub-Divisional Executive Magistrate, Tamluk, Purba Medinipur under Section 10(3) of the Act. 3.

The aforesaid writ petitions stand disposed of by directing the concerned officer to take steps in accordance with law to dispose of the proceeding at the earliest but positively within a period of four months from the date of communication of this order. 4.

Both the writ petitions stands disposed of.

Reports by the Assistant Engineer, Tamluk Highway Sub-Division, P.W. (Roads) Directorate dated 3rd January, 2024 and 11th August, 2025 are taken on record.

Since this writ petition is disposed of without calling for any affidavit from the parties, it is made clear that the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed not to be admitted by the respondents. 7.
