The writ petitioner complains that Burdwan Police Station has not taken any steps, despite complaint having been lodged against the private respondent.

The petitioner has alleged that the private respondent has cheated him into marriage despite already being married, and thereafter stolen cash, cheque and gold ornaments from the petitioner. The private respondent has also circulated objectionable materials amongst the students of the School, where the petitioner is currently engaged as an Assistant Teacher.

Counsel for the private respondent wholly denies the same, and submits that the story is completely concocted.

Be that as it may, pursuant to the directions of the learned Magistrate, C.R. No. 834 of 2021 dated 02.12.2021, has been registered. The issue is pending before the Court of the learned 6th Judicial Magistrate, Burdwan. The next date of hearing is fixed on 16th May, 2022.

In that view of the matter, this Court sees no inaction on the part of the State. However, the writ petitioner claims that he has also lodged a complaint with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the President of the School, being the respondent no.5 herein.

The respondent no.5 may look into such complaint and take appropriate steps, as required under law.

With the aforesaid observations, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

The report in the form of instructions of the Superintendent of Police, Purba Bardhaman dated 25th March, 2022 to the learned State Advocate is taken on record.

There will be no order as to costs.
