The petitioner renews his prayer for bail since there has been no progress in trial since 12th August, 2024. The petitioner is in custody for three and half years.

Learned counsel for the State submits that only two witnesses are left to be examined and the prosecution shall make all endeavours to conclude the trial within six months from date. The earlier prayer of the petitioner was turned down upon considering the merits of the case on 3rd January, 2022 and besides the period of detention of the petitioner, there is no change in circumstance which warrants a favourable order at this stage. Prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The learned trial Court is directed to take the proceeding to its logical conclusion as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law.
