This is an application seeking an expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which a charge sheet was submitted under Sections 21(C ) of the NDPS Act.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner is an accused in this case. He was arrested on 04.06.2020 and is in custody since then. Although the charge sheet was submitted in 27.11.2020 and the supplementary charge sheet was submitted on 07.01.2021, till date the proceeding could not be concluded. Even charges could not be framed. The proceeding has largely remained pending for no fault of the present petitioner. The next date is fixed as 20.03.2021 for framing of charge.

I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the petitioner and the State and have perused the revision petition.

It does not appear that any delay has been occasioned in this case. However, the petitioner is in custody since 04.06.2020.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial court to conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties and in particular, to decide the question of framing of charge on the next date fixed for hearing or within fourteen days therefrom .

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
