In the matter of:- Kalyan Krishna Nandi Mr. Kalyan Krishna Nandi .. petitioner-in-person Mr. Imran Ali Ms. Debjani Sahu ..for the State This is an application seeking expeditious disposal of a proceeding in which a charge-sheet was submitted under Sections 420, 468, 471 read with Section 120B of the Indian Penal Code.

Let a copy of the application be served upon Mr. Imran Ali and Ms. Debjani Sahu, learned advocates, who are present in court today and who ordinarily appear on behalf of the State. Their engagement may be regularised in due course by the competent authority of the State. The petitioner appearing in person submits as follows. The petitioner is an accused in this case. Although the FIR was lodged in 2016 and the chargesheet was submitted in December, 2016, till date, the proceeding could not be concluded. Several dates were fixed for framing of charge, but the same could not be done. For some time, the records were misplaced. The matter has remained pending for no fault of the present

petitioner and in spite of an earlier order of this Court directing expeditious disposal of the proceeding. Despite best efforts, the Copying Section of the learned Court has not supplied certified copy of the latest order-sheet. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State submits that in the interest of justice, the impugned proceeding ought to be expedited.

I have heard the submissions of the learned counsels appearing on behalf of the parties and have perused the revision petition.

It appears that a delay was occasioned in concluding the proceeding.

In view of the above and in the interest of justice, I request the learned trial Court to conclude the proceeding as expeditiously as possible without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties and in particular, to decide the question of framing of charge, if the same has not been done yet, on the next date fixed for hearing or within fortnight from then.

With these observations, the revisional application is disposed of.
