Mr. Haradhan Mondal ..for the petitioner Mr. A.K. Guha Mr. N. Ghosh Dostidar ...for the State Matter relates to appointment of the petitioner on compassionate ground in view of untimely death of the father of the petitioner who was Panchayat Karmee under Jalandi Gram Panchayat, District- Birbhum. The writ petition was heard previously when a coordinate Bench directed the concerned respondent authorities to submit a report with regard to appointment of the petitioner on compassionate ground.

Today, the writ petition is taken up for hearing in presence of the learned advocates representing the petitioner and the State-respondents.

Mr.

N.Ghosh Dostidar, learned advocate representing the State-respondents has placed before this Court a report dated 24th February, 2022 issued by

the Block Development Officer, Nanoor Development Block, District-Birbhum. From the said report dated 24th February, 2022 it appears that the appointment procedure has already been initiated by the District Panchayat and Rural Development Officer, Birbhum vide memo dated 18th February, 2022 issued for verification of antecedents of the petitioner and after completion of the formalities it has been stated in the report that the appointment will be given to the petitioner. Such report dated 24th February, 2022 is taken on record. In view of the report which has been filed before this Court dated 24th February, 2022 this Court finds that there is no impediment in giving appointment to the petitioner subject to completing formalities and accordingly the concerned respondent authorities are directed to give appointment to the petitioner on compassionate ground within a period of 4 (four) weeks from the date of communication of this order upon completing the necessary formalities.

With the above direction, the writ petition stands disposed of.

However, there shall be no order as to costs. Urgent photostat certified copy of the order, if applied for, be given to the parties on compliance of requisite formalities.
