The Pradhan is not represented despite service. Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner claims to be the owner of the land in question and alleges that the private respondents are raising construction therein by illegally recording their names in respect of the said land. The petitioner submitted a representation before the concerned authorities in this regard on 18th December, 2025 which was forwarded by the Sub-Divisional Officer, Alipore Sadar to the Block Development Officer, Thakurpukur Maheshtala and the Pradhan, Chhatta Gram Panchayat on 22nd December, 2025 for consideration. The petitioner submits that the representation is yet to be considered.

Learned counsel for the private respondents submits that they are raising construction in their own land in terms of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.

Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the parties, this Court is of the view that since the representation submitted by the petitioner is pending before the Pradhan, Chhatta Gram Panchayat, being the 6th respondent herein, he is directed to consider and dispose of the same within four weeks from the date of communication of this order upon affording reasonable opportunity of hearing to all concerned including the petitioner and the private respondents, in accordance with law.

The decision taken by the authority shall be communicated to the parties within a week thereof. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the writ petition are deemed not to have been admitted. Urgent certified website copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
