No one appears on behalf of the private respondent, although the State is represented. Report filed on behalf of the State is taken on record. Copy of the report is handed over to the learned counsel for the petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits as follows. The petitioner's daughter died from burn injuries a few years after her marriage. A specific complaint was made by the petitioner to the police authorities, but was not acted upon.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the State relies on the report and submits that an FIR, being Murshidabad PS Case No. 323 of 2019 dated 17.07.2019 was registered under Sections 498A and

304B of the Penal Code on the complaint of the petitioner. Statements were recorded under Sections 161 and 164 of the Code. Relevant documents were collected and charge-sheet was submitted dated 24.12.2019 under Sections 498A, 304B of the Penal Code and Sections 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. Since the prime grievance of the petitioner regarding police inaction in not registering the FIR has already been redressed, no further order may be passed in this regard.

With these observations, this writ petition is disposed of.
