For the respondents By taking out this writ petition, the writ petitioner sought for a direction upon the respondents to consider the case of his appointment in any suitable post in the computer department.

The petitioner claimed that he was appointed as a trainee on and from 8th November, 1991 in the computer department of the respondent no. 1 and his tenure of service was extended from time to time, but he has not been given appointment despite having requisite qualifications and eligibility criteria. This writ petition was filed in 2007. Thereafter, none has turned up to move this writ petition. Today also, none appears on behalf of the writ petitioner though Mr. Banerjee, learned advocate appearing for the respondents, is present.

On close scrutiny of the writ petition, it appears that with the passage of time, the writ petition has become infructuous.

In view thereof, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs. (Partha Sarathi Chatterjee, J.)
