Perused the report filed by the Geologist, SWID & Member Secretary, District Level Ground Water Resources Development Authority, Paschim Bardhaman dated June 19, 2025; let it be taken on record.

It appears therefrom that the unit location where permit has been granted for sinking new well for extraction of groundwater under the DurgapurFaridpur block, Paschim Bardhaman is categorized as 'Safe' block as per the West Bengal Ground Water Resource Estimation report for the year 2022-23.

As the statutory authority opined that it is safe for sinking of new well for extraction of groundwater from the subject place, the prayer of the petitioner for sinking new well in WPA No.26221 of 2023 is allowed. The writ petition stands disposed of.

In view of the report of the geologist, the objection raised by the petitioners in WPA No.4261 of 2024 objecting to the sinking of well fails.

Hence, the writ petition being WPA No.4261 of 2024 stands dismissed.

The application (CAN No.1 of 2024) filed for intervention in WPA No.26221 of 2023 stands rejected, in view of the report dated June 19, 2025 mentioned hereinabove.

Copy of the report dated June 19, 2025 be circulated to all the respective parties.

The Officer-in-Charge of Durgapur police station is directed to render necessary police assistance at the time of sinking of the well, if sought for. 9.

All parties are to act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this court.

Certified copy of this order, if applied for, shall be made available to the parties.
