Mr. Sandipan Pal ...for the petitioner Mr. Ram Chandra Guchhait ...for CESC Limited The petitioner seeks a domestic electricity connection for his residential premises.

Learned counsel for Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) submits that the connection could not be established from the existing meter board due to resistance from respondent nos. 5 to 11. It has been further submitted that, if necessary, police assistance will be provided, and the connection will be effected by installing a loop meter from the existing meter.

Respondent nos. 5 to 11 are not represented despite proper service of notice.

In light of the foregoing, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to CESC to provide the electricity connection at the petitioner's premises with the assistance of the local police station. The Officerin-Charge of Kalitala Ashuti Police Station is directed to extend necessary assistance to implement this order. If required, the police personnel are authorised

to remove the padlock of the meter room in the course of providing such assistance.

The petitioner is required to comply with all necessary formalities and bear the costs associated with police assistance.

Accordingly, WPA 4265 of 2025 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the learned advocates for the parties on usual undertakings.
