Instruction has been forwarded by the Officer-incharge Pandaveswar Police Station signed on 01.03.2023 that possession of 4012 Sq. ft of vacant land in the back side of the police station has been handed over to the petitioners on 18th December, 2022.

Learned advocate for the petitioners admits that the aforesaid vacant land was taken over by the petitioners. The instruction forwarded by the Officer-in-charge also mentions that work order has been issued for conducting the sub soil investigation for the site of setting up/construction of the new model police station in the land allotted under the Asansol Durgapore Police Commissionerate.

The instruction does not mention whether the rental compensation has been given to the petitioners on account of possession of the land for such a long period of

time.

To allow the alleged contemnor to revert with further instruction in the matter, let the contempt application appear on 4th May, 2023.

Further development with regard to the construction work shall also be reported on the said date. ( Amrita Sinha, J.)
