Ray ...for the State in WPA 4313/2025 14&15 16-04-2025 AKG Ct. 15 Both writ petitions are taken up for hearing together, as the petitioners are brothers and co-sharers of a residential property located at Village - Ullaspur, P.O. - Bisnupur, P.S. - Ramnagar, District - Purba Medinipur.
The petitioners seek individual electricity connections in their respective names for the portions of the residential building they currently occupy. It appears that an existing
electricity meter is presently registered in the name of their mother at the said premises.
In view of the facts and circumstances of the present case, I am of the opinion that separate service connections are not required for the same premises.
The Station Manager of the Digha Customer Care Centre is directed to conduct an inspection of the premises and assess the feasibility of installing loop meters in the names of both petitioners. Should the installation of such loop meters be technically viable, the same shall be carried out, subject to the petitioners' compliance with all necessary formalities.
Accordingly, WPA 3457 of 2025 and WPA 4313 of 2025 are disposed of.
It is clarified that the installation of a loop meter shall not, in any manner, confer any equitable rights upon either of the petitioners.
Urgent certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
