Petitioner approached this Court being aggrieved regarding the manner in which the investigation was carried out and particularly for recovery of the jewelleries in connection with Jetia Police Station Case No.81 of 2024 dated 15.06.2024. State has submitted a report by the Assistance Commissioner of Police, Bizpur, Barrackpore Police Commissionerate which reflects that on 20.02.2025 date was fixed for breaking open the locker but due to non-availability of Priyabrata Roy, the scheduled date was cancelled by the bank manager for breaking open the locker. After several

discussions, the SBI Halder Dighi Branch, Khirpai Dist, Paschim Medinipur received a message on March 1, 2025 from the said manager informing that the locker will be scheduled to be opened on 14th March, 2025.

Having considered that the police authorities are taking appropriate steps for recovering the jewelleries which is a prime grievance of the petitioner being ignored, I am of the view that the police authorities if on 14th March, 2025 there is any impediment, in that case, all efforts be put in by the police authorities so that the process is completed by 21st March, 2025 particularly with reference to the locker which is scheduled to be open and has been referred to in the report submitted before this Court. With the aforesaid observations, WPA 4443 of 2025 is disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.

Report so submitted be kept with the record.

A copy of the report be handed over to the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner. All parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
