Heard learned counsels for the parties.

The petitioner is the husband of the victim and is in custody for more than 1 year 11 months. He prays for bail. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that charges have been framed but no witness has turned up on 3 schedules fixed for evidence.

Learned counsel for the State opposes the prayer. On merits, the bail prayer of the petitioner was turned down by this Court earlier. There is no change of circumstances which warrants a favourable order for the petitioner at this stage.

Accordingly, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage.

The learned trial Court is directed to take necessary steps to secure the attendance of the witnesses on the next

date and expedite the trial without granting any unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties, in accordance with law. The application for bail is thus disposed of. Case diary be returned.
