Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that although the petitioner has applied for a new electricity connection and inspection was taken in that regard by the CESC Limited, no connection has yet been given to the petitioner.

Learned counsel for the CESC Limited opposes such contention and submits that, upon holding inspection duly, the CESC Limited asked the petitioner to hand over certain relevant documents, including the documents of registration of the petitioner-society, tax bills, etc. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the certificate of registration has been annexed to the present writ petition.

Be that as it may, since the CESC Limited has not committed any irregularity or illegality in insisting upon the production of such relevant document, WPA 4286 of 2023 is disposed of by directing the petitioner to furnish

the relevant documents before the CESC Limited at the earliest.

As and when such documents are produced and due formalities are complied with by the petitioner, the CESC Limited shall give the electricity connection to the petitioner within a fortnight thereafter.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
