1. The grievance of the petitioners in both the cases is that the petitioners were not given electricity connections at the premises.

2. Subsequently, a report was filed by the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), which indicates that a ten feet electricity pillar was to be constructed

for giving the electricity connections to the petitioners. In the meantime, the petitioners submit, the said pillar has been raised. Hence, there is no other impediment to give the electricity connections to the petitioners.

3. Accordingly, WPA No. 1812 of 2023 and WPA No. 4304 of 2023 are disposed of by directing the WBSEDCL to give electricity connections to the petitioners subject to compliance of due formalities by the petitioners within a fortnight from the date of such compliance of formalities.

4. In any event, if any obstruction is faced by the WBSEDCL personnel in doing so, it will be open to the personnel of the WBSEDCL to approach the Officer-in-Charge/Inspector-inCharge of the local police station for getting assistance. If such an approach is made, such assistance shall be given by the said Officer-in-Charge/Inspector-in-Charge at the cost of the petitioners to ensure that the connections are given to the petitioners.

5. A report filed by the WBSEDCL in WPA No.

4304 of 2023 be kept on record.

6. There will be no order as to costs.

7. Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be made available to the parties upon compliance with the requisite formalities. (Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, J.)
