This is the second round of litigation between the parties.

In an earlier round, being WPA 21254 of 2025 a Co-ordinate Bench had directed the CESC Limited to provide an electricity connection to the premises of the petitioner alongwith police assistance. It now transpires that there is the padlock at the subject premises and the police requires a specific direction to break open the same. In such circumstances, WPA 4351 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing all the concerned parties to act in terms of the earlier order dated 16.09.2025 passed in WPA 21254 of 2025.

It is further directed that the police will be at liberty to break open the padlock, if the circumstances so warrant.

It is made clear that this order is not to be interpreted as an expression on the pending civil disputes between the parties.

Ms. Priyanka Jana who usually appears on behalf of the State is requested to represent the State respondent. The appointment of Ms. Jana be regularized by the Legal Remembrancer.
