Allegation of forgery of the stamp paper is made in respect of the deed presented for registration. In such circumstances, in my view, interest of justice would be sub-served by permitting the petitioners to deposit the money equivalent of the stamp duty presented for registration to the deed concerned with the authorities. Upon the authorities receiving such deposit, the authorities will issue the certified copy of the deed presented for registration to the petitioners. It will be open to the authorities to initiate appropriate proceedings against the

petitioners if the authority is of the view that the petitioners are guilty of the forgery.

W.P. No. 4960 of 2021 is disposed of without any order as to costs.
