A work order was also issued in favour of the petitioner in respect of Gorabazar Ferry Ghat.

The grievance of the petitioner is that though the work order was issued on May 22, 2025, but the period of lease of 3 years was given a retrospective effect on and from September 15, 2024.

The petitioner submitted a representation before the District Magistrate, MSD & Executive Officer, Murshidabad Zilla Parishad, being the respondent No.3, praying for modification of the work order.

The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that no decision on the demand of justice through the learned advocate's letter dated January 9, 2026 has been communicated to the petitioner till date. Mr. De, learned Additional Government Pleader submits that the decision on the letter demanding justice

shall be communicated to the petitioner within the time limit as may be fixed by this Court.

Without entering into the merits of the claim made in the demand for justice through the learned advocate's letter dated January 9, 2026, WPA 4483 of 2026 stands disposed of by directing the District Magistrate, MSD & Executive Officer, Murshidabad Zilla Parishad, being the respondent No.3 to consider the grievances raised by the petitioner through his learned advocate's letter dated January 9, 2026 and dispose of the same by passing a reasoned order after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and any other persons/authority whose views may be relevant for the purpose of taking a decision on such issue and the reasoned order shall be communicated to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible but positively within a period of 12 weeks from the date of receipt of server copy of this order along with a copy of the letter dated January 9, 2026.

There will be no order as to costs.
