The petitioner is aggrieved as the respondent no.5 had been making obscene gestures to the petitioner including exposing his private parts to her embarrassment. To that effect, Technocity Police Station Case No. 207/2023 dated 30.10.2023 has been registered for investigation. However, the petitioner complains that she is under constant threat from the respondent no.5 and his associates. To that effect, information was furnished.

Mr. Sengupta, learned advocate appearing for the State contends that the information was furnished more than a year ago before the concerned police station as also the Commissionerate.

Be that as it may, the petitioner is a witness of the case. As such, she is granted liberty to approach the jurisdictional Magistrate with an appropriate application under the provisions of Witness Protection Scheme, 2018. In case the

learned Magistrate is of opinion that there is substance, he would call for a threat perception report from the concerned police station and thereafter pass necessary orders under the Scheme. With the aforesaid observations, the writ petition being WPA 4493 of 2024 is disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
