It appears from the report of the Chairman, DPSC, South 24 Parganas dated 30.04.2024 that the petitioner was absent from 13.05.2017 to 21.12.2020 i.e. 1319 days in total. The matter has been referred by the DPSC, South 24 Parganas to the Commissioner of School Education.

This Court directs the Commissioner of School Education to take steps in accordance with law including any proceeding for unauthorized absence against the petitioner. Joining of the petitioner in service and any payment made to him during the pendency of the writ petition shall not stand in the way of the respondents for taking steps against the petitioner in accordance with the rules and law.

The writ petition is disposed of.
