Case No. 681 of 2018 under Sections 420/465/467/468/471/474/120B/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 which is presently pending before the Learned Judicial Magistrate at Bidhannagar, North 24 Parganas. Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submits that the petitioner's husband was the original complainant; however, the petitioner has since been substituted in his place. It is further submitted that, although no effective progress had been made in the conduct of the trial for a considerable period. It appears that a charge sheet was

filed in the present case on May 18, 2022. Despite this, the charge has not yet been framed.

In view of the above, the present application is disposed of with a direction to the Learned Judicial Magistrate to fix a date for the framing of charge within a period of one month from the date of communication of this order. In the event that charges are framed, the Learned Magistrate shall ensure that the trial is concluded as expeditiously as possible. It is clarified that this Court has not entered into the merits of the case. The Learned Magistrate shall proceed with the framing of charge in accordance with law. Accordingly, CRR 863 of 2026 stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
