1. The affidavit of service filed today is kept on record.

2. The petitioner is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Sripat Singh College, Jiaganj, Murshidabad, since 2016.

3. The petitioner had applied for a transfer on own seeking on the ground of distance, sometime in 2021. The college has duly forwarded such application with the requisite No Objection and declaration to the respondent no.

The respondent no. 3 has, since 2021, not disposed of the application of the petitioner.

4. I direct the respondent no. 3 to dispose of the application of the petitioner, seeking transfer from Sripat Singh College, Jiaganj, Murshidabad to

Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya or Kaliagunj College, wherever vacancy is available, by April 20, 2026, upon giving a hearing to the petitioner with adequate prior notice.

5. The resultant order will be communicated to the petitioner and to the college authorities by April 30, 2026 by the respondent no. 3.

6. With these afore-stated directions, the writ petition is disposed of.

7. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.
