1. Petitioner is in custody for more than one year and nine months. He submits there is slow progress in trial. He renews his bail prayer.

2. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner had heated exchange with the victim prior to the incident. On his leading statement incriminating articles were recovered. Trial is in progress.

4. Under such circumstances and in view of the gravity of offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
