The petitioner is aggrieved by the fact that AC Case No. 964 of 2016 commenced almost eight year ago and, till date, the evidence of the applicant is continuing. Ld. Advocate appearing for the petitioner complains that on different pretext and design, the present case is dragged. The next date has been fixed by the ld. Court on 23rd of April, 2024.

In view of the period which has elapsed, I direct the Ld. JM, 2nd Court, Alipore to fix at least one date in every 20 days for the purpose of the present case so that the trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment be granted to any of the parties. All efforts be taken so that the trial is completed at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 724 of 2024 is disposed of.

Pending application, if any, is also disposed of. Parties to act on a server copy of this order duly collected from the official website of the Hon'ble High Court, Calcutta.
