1. Petitioners are in custody or 221 days. They submit that the incident occurred in the course of panchayat election. Accordingly, they pray for bail.
2. Learned lawyer for the State opposes the bail prayer.
3. We have considered the materials on record. Statements of witnesses implicate the petitioners in the offence. Delay in the matter is due to abscondence of co-accused.
4. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioners at this stage.
