Affidavit-of-service filed in Court today be taken on record The writ petitioner is the father of a deceased girl, namely, Saheli Bose. The said girl had died before commencement of surgery at the S.V.S. Marwari Hospital at Calcutta on 29th September, 2019. It is submitted by Mr. Edulji, Counsel for the petitioner that the victim might have been given overdose of Anaesthesia and there is a suspicion of medical negligence.

Counsel for the State submits that a UD Case No. 40 of 2019 dated 20th September, 2019 has been registered with the Amherst Street Police Station. In those circumstances, since the scope of the writ petition is rather limited, the Officer-in-charge, Amherst Street Police Station shall, within a period of

ten days from date, furnish copies of the post mortem reports of the victim and final opinion of the Medical Officer as regards the cause of death. Viscera report shall also be furnished to the petitioner within the same time as indicated hereinabove.

The petitioner may pursue any remedies that may be available to him in accordance with law. With the aforesaid directions, the instant writ petition shall stand disposed of.

There will be no order as to costs.
