Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 10.06.2024. It has been submitted that similarly placed accused persons have already been granted bail.

Learned advocate appearing for the State, on the other hand, opposes the prayer for bail and submits that from the possession of the petitioner, a mobile phone has been recovered which belongs to the de facto complainant. It has been further pointed out that there are earlier six antecedents of the petitioner in respect of similar offences of dacoity.

Records of the case reflect that till date, ten witnesses have been examined and prosecution proposes to examine 20 witnesses in whole in support of its case. As a matter of

last chance, prosecution is granted six months' time to complete the examination of rest of the witnesses. If within the aforesaid period, the prosecution, in spite of cooperation extended by the petitioner and other accused persons, is unable to complete the examination of the witnesses, petitioner would be at liberty to approach this Court for renewal of his prayer for bail.

At this stage, I am not inclined to release the petitioner on bail. As such, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected.

The application for bail, being CRM (M) 551 of 2026, is, thus, disposed of.
