Pursuant to an earlier order passed in this proceeding, the alleged contemnors have handed over a copy of the order dated 26.09.2023 passed by the Chairperson and Managing Director of WBIDCL.

In purported compliance, the stand taken by the alleged contemnors that the only ground for rejecting the illegible criteria of the petitioner is the company shall not in any way dispose of any or part of the assets already created. It is alleged that the petitioner's sale of its undertaking in the Haldia unit to Adani Wilmar Limited was not in keeping with the object and purpose of the WBSSIS-2008.

Mr. Banerjee, appearing on behalf of the alleged contemnors prays for an opportunity to take instructions as to whether the only purported ground was a part of the Scheme or not.

Liberty is granted to the alleged contemnors to file a supplementary affidavit, if necessary, within a week following the ensuing vacation.

Reply, if any, be filed within a week thereafter. The parties shall be at liberty to mention after filing of affidavits.
