Petitioner is in custody for more than two years eight months. The prosecution proposes to rely upon 19 witnesses to prove its case. Out of the said 19 witnesses, till date only four witnesses have been examined.

In view of the aforesaid the agony expressed by the learned advocate appearing for the petitioner in connection with Domkal Police Station Case No. 83 of 2021 dated 28.02.2021 is justified. Accordingly, I direct that the Additional S.P./SDPO/DSP in-charge of Domkal Police Station will act as a nodal officer of this case. The learned Additional Sessions Judge, 2nd Fast Track Court, Berhampore, Murshidabad would directly issue summons in respect of appearance of the witnesses to the concerned nodal officer. The nodal officer would be responsible for the availability of the witness concerned on the date so fixed by the learned trial court. In case a witness is not available, a report would be submitted before the court on the date so fixed for appearance of the witness concerned. Learned trial court would fix a schedule consisting of three dates and fix such schedule once in every month so

that trial of the case can be taken to its logical conclusion within a reasonable period of time. No unnecessary adjournment should be granted to either of the parties. Learned public prosecutor conducting the case would ensure regarding the production of materials, documents and exhibits on the dates so fixed for examination of the witnesses.

All stakeholders should cooperate with the learned trial court to conclude the trial at the earliest.

With the aforesaid observations, the revisional application being CRR 725 of 2024 is disposed of. Pending connected application, if any, is consequently disposed of.

All concerned parties shall act on the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
