The petitioner's prayer for organising a "Jalsa" (a religious programme of Muslim community) was not allowed by the police in view of the ongoing Higher Secondary examination.

It has been submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that there is no school within the vicinity of the relevant area.

I am not convinced. There may not be any school within the vicinity, but it does not necessarily mean that there is no student also.

In that view of the matter, the writ petition is not entertained. However, this order will not exclude the petitioner from making a fresh prayer for holding such programme after the examination is over.

Accordingly, WPA 4681 of 2024 is disposed of. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible. (Kausik Chanda, J.)
