Affidavit of service is taken on record. Despite service none appears on behalf of the respondents.

The petitioner makes an innocuous prayer for a direction upon the appropriate authority for disposal of a proceeding initiated under the West Bengal Public Land (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1962.

It is submitted that the said proceeding was initiated pursuant to a direction of this Court. The petitioner is aggrieved by the delay.

Without expressing any opinion on the merits of the issues raised by the petitioner and the validity of the proceeding, this Court disposes of the writ petition directing the appropriate authority to complete the proceedings expeditiously upon granting opportunity of hearing to all and upon following the principles of natural justice within a period of one month from

the date of communication of this order, strictly in accordance with law.

As the private parties are not represented before this Court, the authority shall also give them an opportunity of hearing before the final steps are taken.

There shall be no order as to costs.

Parties are directed to act on the basis of the server copy of this order.
